Researching articles related portfolio website develops my basic knowledge. This activity will be helpful to create my own portfolio website in the future.

It shows the importance of personal portfolio website, and it is the reason why I chose this article. According to this article, the personal website gives me creative freedom to express my personality in ways that are not possible through my resume. Also, well-designed website can deliver a message that I take my career. Lastly, having my own website gives an opportunity to demonstrate a portfolio of information about me and to allow me to control what people will find when they search for me. I can apply this insight gained to my portfolio site by building my website and showing up who I am clearly.

Secondly, I chose the article 10 Top Principles of effective web design authored by Sofia Woods because it is closely related to making effective portfolio website. This article shows 10 principles that I have to keep in mind when I make my personal website. The 3 interest points for me from these principles are grid based layouts, “F” pattern design, and load time. Grid-based layouts can lead to my website design looking better from content into sections, columns, and boxes that feel balanced. “F” pattern is the way to people scan computer screens, so it is important to display information in order of importance. Lastly, I can control my page load times by optimizing image sizes, combining code into a central CSS or JavaScript file and minify HTML, CSS, JavaScript. This information was really helpful to make my personal website by giving right direction. I will apply them to my portfolio site.

The last article that I chose is Showcasing Your Work, in an Online Portfolio authored by Eliene Zimmermanjune. This article is also related to online portfolio site that is composed of questions and answers. An online portfolio website is useful both situation when I am looking for a job and when I am not looking for a job. Even if I am not looking for a job, keeping an online portfolio can be a good way to keep track of my accomplishments and industry activities. It also shows what contents have to be included in an online portfolio. In addition, this article provides platforms that are available for creative professionals. I will consider these things to make my portfolio site this week.
