For this activity, I reviewed several web sites to explore TransMedia Narratives' application. While doing this process, I could consider some ways to connect the social cause for my non-profit websites "doctors without borders" that I redesigned in a previous month.

  • To what cause is the TransMedia Narrative bringing attention?

The purpose of the TransMedia narrative for Doctors Without Borders is to bring attention to extreme need and unacceptable suffering when access to lifesaving medical care is hindered, when medical facilities come under threat, when crises are neglected, or when the provision of aid is inadequate or abused. They help people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care.

  • What is the mission, or desirable outcome? Is this a measurable goal?

The mission is to reach people who need help the most through transmedia and encourage donations to bring emergency medical assistance to populations in need. It would be a measurable goal.

  • Across how many platforms can this narrative effectively reach?

This transmedia narrative can be effectively reached through several different media platforms such as TV show, music, book, articles, and film. They also have eight social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, Google+, MSF Blog, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Clipboard.

  • How is your audience able to participate in the narrative?

The audience can participate in the narrative through social media channels by participating social campaigns and sharing MSF stories. Also, people can use films, books, and audio slideshows in their classroom as educational materials to support MSF's lifesaving work.
